Company: Houston Secondary School Administrator: Lyndsey Williams Date: February 22 - 26, 2021 Achievements: - Creating a positive and fun atmosphere - Writing an article for our local News Paper - Planning and interacting with students Leadership as a group came up with the idea of Dress up week. The goal of this week was to increase school spirit and culture through appearance. Each day of the week had a different theme. -Monday Western Day The idea was to look like a cowboy. Many people wore plaid shirts and jeans, paired with jeans. -Tuesday Tie-Dye Day Everyone wore colourful tie-dye apparel. Types of clothes included tops, bottoms, and accessories. -Wednesday Character Day Dress up as your favourite movie, book, comic, or meme character. Some people even dressed up as the Sty Guys. -Thursday Wolverine Wear Day Houston Secondary School's colours are green and black. Students can also wear the HSS wolverine merchandise. -Friday Pyjama day The last day of the week was Pyjama. Many students wore sweat or cotton pants. On March 11th, the traditional Pi day took place. Events planned for Pi Day included Pi digit memorization contests and Pi trivia. Slices of pie were also given out. The winner of the Pi digit memorization contest memorized a total of 121 digits!

Each day from May 3 - May 7, there were events and challenged planned throughout the day. There were many posters and infographics hung around the school that week to promote mental health. There were 5 winners for each challenge. Winners were selected by who ever completed the challenges. Main advertisements and media were handled by Julianna Maciel and Ton Tran -Monday Cooking Actually: Energy Bites Easy to make, no baking needed. Promotes healthy eating Hailey Kettle & Damon Brienen Challenge Post / Re-Share on social media to spread positivity -Tuesday Art activity therapy Students would use their two hands and trace around them. One hand would be for letting things go and the other would be to cherish the things you love. Charles Sullivan & Jaxson Lohn Challenge Instagram Scavenger hunt. Promotes physical activity. -Wednesday Colouring Pages Students were given colouring pages to express their feelings and the pages were used to promote mental health Mary Hodge & Faith Clark Challenge What fills my cup Students could write on a sheet of paper on what they were thinking about at that time. -Thursday Sugar Scrubs Students created exfoliants to prioritize self care. Beck and Colton Sketchley Challenge Poetry Contest. Students wrote a poetry on content healthy relationships or mental health. -Friday Exercise in the Gym Students could participate in many different activities and weight training. Ton Tran & Reid Stump Challenge Self Care Bingo Bingo Sheet focused on self-care. Students completed tasks on the sheet until they got a line. Colour Run Students were to walk or run a route to promote mental health. At the end, staff members would through the mental health colours (Pink, green, blue, orange, yellow, red). Students wore white so that the colours could show. Mental health is a lot of the time over looked. It is important for HSS to recognize this. In efforts to spread the awarenessand support of Mental health. The leadership crew at HSS ran a fun filled week full of events and activities for the students of HSS to enjoy.

Students will be able to write notes that will be placed in the egg. There will also be chocolate in the egg. The eggs will be handed out on Thursday. Gummy Bear guess in a jar -There is a jar filled with gummy bears. Students can pay 25 cents to make a guess on the number of gummy bears are in the jar. The winner we be announce at the the end of the week. The winner gets to keep the jar Egg painting Egg Spoon Race Egg Hunt Colouring Contest Elf on the Shelf -There will be a hidden stuffed animal hidden around the school. The winner will win some sort of prize
